The Minnesota Timberwolves made the trade to send Andrew Wiggins and a first-round draft pick to the Golden State Warriors before the 2020 trade deadline in order to acquire All-Star guard D’Angelo Russell. The Timberwolves have been bad this year – among the worst teams in the NBA.

Ice in My Veins

D'angelo Russell

During the best scoring performance of his career thus far, Russell debuted the “ice in my veins” celebration for the first time on the NBA level. Russell’s celebration quickly became a hit among Lakers fans and mimicked every time he hit big shots for Los Angeles.

In a recent interview with Alex Wong of GQ, Russell explained where the celebration came from: It’s something my dad said growing up. He always said you have to be prepared for big moments, you gotta have ice in your veins. You have to have no feelings. You have to go out there and play your hardest and do what you do. That was the celebration what I performed well and knowing he prepared me mentally.

Wife

Minnesota Timberwolves star D’Angelo Russell isn’t married yet, but he has a girlfriend Laura Ivaniukas.  He was spotted splashing around with girlfriend Laura Ivaniukas this week on Miami Beach.

The couple was spotted Thursday cuddled close while neck-deep within the waves, later hitting the shores to relax on their beach chairs.

Net Worth

The present Net Worth of D’Angelo Russell is $2.5 million. Though this figure may seem low in comparison it must be noted that he is still a very young player. Despite his young age, he is predicted to sign exclusive deals with several multinational companies. The details of the Nike deal weren’t made public, but his extravagant lifestyle hints at a huge sum paid as consideration for the contract.

Russell signed an endorsement deal with Nike in 2015, adding him to the elite list of NBA players who endorse that brand including Kevin Durant, Kobe Bryant and LeBron James.
