On Wednesday, White revealed in an interview with Jim Rome that he tested positive for COVID-19 over Thanksgiving weekend. He added that he went to UFC personality, podcast host, and close friend Joe Rogan for medical advice, and also noted that he is vaccinated.
“We went up to my place in Maine for Thanksgiving; it’s tradition we go up there every Thanksgiving,” White said.
Covid:
Upon hearing the news, several fighters and members of the MMA community reached out on social media to wish White good health, including middleweight contenders Kelvin Gastelum and Derek Brunson, and longtime official John McCarthy.

Vaccinated:
White said he “could not feel better” thanks to his Rogan-approved prescription, which included a cocktail of monoclonal antibodies, vitamins and ivermectin, a drug first discovered in 1975 as a treatment for parasitic infections in livestock and pets and later used for humans to treat parasitic worms, head lice and rosacea.
A number of clinical trials have shown ivermectin to be ineffective in treating coronavirus. “People need to realize it doesn’t work and it’s not safe,” Dr. Davidson Hamer of Boston Medical Center recently told NBC 10.
