Rene Dakota Prescott (born July 29, 1993) is an American football quarterback for the Dallas Cowboys of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football for the Mississippi State Bulldogs and was selected by the Cowboys in the fourth round of the 2016 NFL Draft.

Head coach Mike McCarthy told owner Jerry Jones after the game that he wanted Prescott to get the job done with a two-minute offense. McCarthy said the same thing to reporters, indicating that the offense is struggling to such an extent that he thought it was important that Prescott be there so the group could do something positive in next week’s game against Atlanta.
