Jaguars

Dabo Swinney: Jaguars| Coaching career| Quotes| Salary 2021

Swine signed a 10-year, $92 million deal with Clemson in April 2019, which at the time was the largest contract in college football history. It runs until 2028 and includes other incentives. It also required that Swinney be one of the three highest-paid coaches in any season after his team reached the semifinals of the college football playoffs.

Simply put, this guy is being paid. Swine’s high salary could not only deter him from chasing any pro openings, but could also deter NFL teams from chasing him. Potential purchase issues and contract negotiations may be enough to end negotiations before they begin .Then, there’s the football side of things. Recent history shows that expecting a college coach to take success to the next level is not a big deal. Meyer, Bobby Petrino, Greg Schiano, Matt Roulette, Steve Spurrier — heck, even Nick Saban fought with the dolphins. And Swinney has to win in Jacksonville? It’s a long task considering the dumpster fire left behind by the mayor.
