Colorado vs Nebraska football: Game| Score| Prediction
Colorado received a crash course in how to bounce back and play through adversity in Week 1. It got massive benefits on Saturday.
After a 45-point outburst against TCU, the Buffaloes were held scoreless for much of the second quarter. Fortunately, Deion Sanders’ team, Nebraska, remained scoreless for even longer. Ultimately, it was the Cornhuskers’ mistakes that opened the door for Colorado.
Nebraska had a disappointing performance, committing four turnovers, missed one field goal and committed six penalties. Nebraska QB Jeff Sims fumbled two snaps in the first half, the latter of which set up a Colorado field goal, and a brutal interception by Sims set up a Buffalo touchdown that opened the floodgates.
Colorado’s offense looked more comfortable and organized in the second half, scoring its way to three more touchdowns and turning what started as a defensive battle into a lopsided affair.
3:30 pm. – It’s over in Boulder! Colorado got on the board with a 36–14 win, doubling last season’s win total. The Coach Prime effect is in full swing.
3:29 PM Touchdown – Thomas Fidone II caught a touchdown pass from Harburg, so Nebraska would go away with only seven points. 36–14, Colorado with one second on the clock.
3:26 PM – Sanders is fouled out of the game, and backup QB Ryan Staub immediately loses the football on a sack. Nebraska will have another chance to reach double figures.
3:22 PM – It doesn’t look like Sims is coming back, as Harburg has taken over the reins of the Nebraska offense for the remainder of this attack.
