Coleridge CJ Bernard Stroud IV is an American football quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes. Stroud attended and played high school football at Rancho Cucamonga High School located in Rancho Cucamonga, California. Stroud holds many Ohio State records including most passing yards in a single game at 573.

Recruiting:

A 2020 graduate of Rancho Cucamonga High School in California, Stroud was a 4-star recruit on 247sports. He chose Ohio State over Georgia and Michigan, among others.

Ohio State quarterback CJ Stroud, hails from Southern California, but decided to play college football out of state. Despite having offers from USC and UCLA, Stroud took his talents to the midwest, to play for the Buckeyes.

Stroud’s decision is a common one for top talents in the sunshine state, who continuously get swept away to top programs like Alabama, Georgia, Michigan and Ohio State.

When asked his thoughts on why so many Southern California high school football players leave the state, Stroud revealed his honest opinion.

The rise for Stroud was more incremental. He wasn’t as heavily sought-after until later in his high school career at Rancho Cucamonga.

Stroud attended and played high school football at Rancho Cucamonga High School located in Rancho Cucamonga, California. He holds the Ohio State record for most consecutive passes completed (17).

Dad:

CJ Stroud’s only parent is his mother, Kimberley Stroud, as of now.

His father’s name is not yet revealed. The footballer’s dad is said to be in prison.

In an interview, he stated that he was only in middle school when his dad was taken to prison.

Is playing today:

The Ohio State quarterback wanted to win the Heisman Trophy after a stellar first season under center for the Buckeyes, and even though he thought Alabama’s Bryce Young was deserving of the honor, coming in fourth place didn’t sit right with Stroud.

“I wasn’t happy with the results at the end at all,” Stroud said at a Rose Bowl media event at Disneyland in Anaheim, California on Monday.
