Chargers rally to beat turnover-prone Chiefs 30-24 in KC

Chiefs: vs chargers| Coach in hospital| Chargers score| Game...

— The Chargers had just turned the Kansas City Chiefs over for the fourth time Sunday. Los Angeles coach Brandon Staley was left with a crucial fourth-down call with less than a minute left in a tie game.

Coach in hospital:

Kansas City Chiefs coach Andy Reid left Arrowhead Stadium and was transported to a local hospital system after feeling ill following Sunday’s game against the Los Angeles Chargers, according to the team.

Reid, 63, was treated for dehydration and he is expected to be fine, a source told ESPN’s Dan Graziano. The Chiefs didn’t specify in a statement on Sunday night what was wrong with Reid, only saying that he “felt ill,” but the team did say the coach is “doing well, currently resting & in stable condition.”

Reid stayed on the sideline until the end of the Chiefs’ 30-24 loss and returned to the locker room afterward.

The Kansas City Chiefs never get a chance to play in the easy games and this week was no different.

After the first defensive drive and most of the first offensive drive, it looked like things were going to swing their way before everything came crumbling down. Three turnovers and a 14-point deficit later, this game was looking like it was going to end in disappointment. Sure enough, this team didn’t give up and battled their way back to a chance to win the game. Ultimately, the mistakes were too much for the team to overcome.

Game:

Moments after the Chiefs’ discouraging 30-24 loss to the Los Angeles Chargers on Sunday at Arrowhead Stadium, a subtly disorienting scene formed in the post-game interview room.

First, the wait for coach Andy Reid was notably longer than usual, a delay easy to assume was related to the distressing nature of a second straight defeat for the first time in two years.
