Comments
Sports journalist Charissa Thompson sparked outrage after saying she fabricated comments from coaches when she worked as an NFL sideline reporter — but she later retracted her statement, claiming she never “lied.” Or didn’t do anything “immoral”.
Thompson, who now works for Fox Sports and Amazon Prime’s “Thursday Night Football,” shared the comments on Wednesday’s episode of the “Pardon My Take” podcast.
“I’ve said it before, so I don’t get fired for saying it, but I’ll say it again. I would sometimes make reports because A, the coach didn’t come out at halftime or it was too late and I was like, ‘I didn’t want to mess up the report,’ so I was like, ‘ I’m just going to make it,” the 41-year-old said.
Phone hacked
Thompson, who is currently an NFL host for Fox Sports, was the victim of a hacking earlier this year in which private photos from her iCloud account were spread online. It’s a terrible, terrible thing, and Thompson doesn’t gloss over how much it affected him.
It’s an incredibly emotional interview, and full credit to him for being willing to talk about it. It’s sad that she has to feel any kind of complication; It’s easy to say “Well, no celebrity should have these photos!” But this is stupid. Crime is crime.
Husband
Thompson and Thousand became engaged in January 2020, and the pair married in December 2020 in an intimate ceremony attended by only 10 guests. The couple were briefly married before Thompson announced she was divorcing Thousand in April 2022, following their separation last December.
