The Arizona Cardinals are a professional American football team based in the Phoenix metropolitan area. The Cardinals compete in the National Football League (NFL) as a member club of the National Football Conference (NFC) West Division. The team was founded in 1898 as the Morgan Athletic Club, and is one of the oldest continuously operating professional football teams in the United States. The Cardinals play their home games at State Farm Stadium, which opened in 2006 and is located in the northwestern suburb of Glendale.

The team was founded in Chicago in 1898 as an amateur football team and joined the NFL as a charter member on September 17, 1920. Along with the Chicago Bears, the club is one of two NFL charter member franchises still in operation since the league’s inception (the Green Bay Packers were an independent team until they joined the NFL a year after its creation in 1921. did not attend). The club moved to St. Louis in 1960 and played there until 1987. In St. Louis the team was commonly referred to as the “Football Cardinals”, “Gridbirds”, or “Big Reds” to avoid confusion with Major League Baseball. Team of the same name. Edmonds
Edmonds grew up in Harrisburg, Pennsylvania and graduated from Central Dauphin East High School, where he played basketball and football for the Panthers. As a senior, Edmonds accumulated a total of 2,378 yards and 25 touchdowns, including 1,984 rushing yards and was an all-state selection. He was selected to play in the Big 33 Football Classic and was named the game’s Most Valuable Player.[1]
Despite his success on the field, he received little interest from FBS programs due to his size.
Game today
The Packers-Cardinals “Thursday Night Football” game lived up to the hype. Green Bay (7–1) handed Arizona (7–1) their first loss of the season when Russell Douglas intercepted a Kyler Murray pass in the end zone in the last game of Arizona’s game. The Packers won 24-21.
The last few minutes of the game were a roller coaster. With 4:46 remaining, Aaron Jones’ rush into the final field was called a touchdown, but then reversed on review and was marked low. The Packers then received a game penalty delay because they had already used up all of their timeouts. Two plays after that, Green Bay swung the ball down the aisle in Arizona 1 when Aaron Rodgers’s pass was dropped on fourth and goal.
