The first round of the Carabao Cup is divided into two sections: North and South.
Twenty-two teams in the championship include 24 teams from League One and 24 teams from League Two. The games were played in the week starting 8 August.

Premier League clubs – Manchester City, Liverpool, Manchester United, Arsenal, Tottenham, Chelsea, Leeds, Brighton, Newcastle and West Ham join the 25 winners of the second round.
