Cameron Norrie’s hopes of becoming the first British player to reach a Wimbledon final in six years were dashed on Friday as he lost to 20-time Grand Slam champion Novak Djokovic.

But a roaring spectator gave the British No 1 a standing ovation as he left center court while Djokovic waved kisses to his fans.

At the post-match press conference, Nori said he was proud of his performance and paid tribute to his fans.

“I feel like everyone is following me, especially in the crowd. Everyone is talking, shouting,” he said.
