His other books include First Things First, Principal-Centered Leadership, The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Families, The 8th Habit, and The Leader in Me: How Schools End Parents Around the World Inspiring Greatness, One Child at a Time. When possible, Covey said one of her favorite things to do is engage in spiritual conversations with her peers. He emphasized that in doing so his intention is not to convert anyone, but only to share about God, he said in an interview on April 13, days before the Utes’ spring game.

Covey attended Utah’s spring football practice to allow him to recover from previous injuries.

“It’s really easy in football when you see people around them as conservative football players who are hard-headed and who are not the church-going type,” Covey said. “But every single player I asked about their religious beliefs, it seems that a new side of them has come to the fore.”

SALT LAKE CITY, Utah – University of Utah standout wide-receiver, Britain Covey, is enjoying life as a newlywed. The current coronavirus pandemic can’t stop Covey from smiling and laughing as he goes through living apart with his new partner in life.

In a recent conversation with Tom Hackett on the KSL Sports Instagram page, Covey spoke publicly about the recovery process from tearing his ACL during the 2018 Pac-12 Championship game for the first time. Also discussing what his future holds after the conclusion of his playing career.

Speed

The freshman led the team’s receivers with 58 yards receiving, and he had two catches in the second quarter that were crucial in setting up Utah’s first touchdown—a 1-yard run by Devonte Booker.

He had only one opportunity to return a punt, and he managed to gain 14 yards.

While some may have doubted the Timpview standout’s ability to play Pac-12 football, coach Kyle Whittingham is quick to point out that he never doubted that.

“We believed in that,” Whittingham said in front of the largest crowd ever (47,825) at the stadium after Utah’s 24-17 win over Michigan on Thursday night. “He’s very quick and athletic and tough and smart. The only thing he doesn’t have is a real biggie. But he does everything else. He’s got great hands; he’s great at the comeback game, I think. That he’s going to be a weapon for us.”

Rivals

His grandfather is listed among the school’s distinguished alumni in the University of Utah’s Football Media Guide, but Brit Covey once believed that anyone who enrolled there was “a bad person”. Chase Henson attended a Ute football game as a high school player, looked around the rowdy Rice-Eccles Stadium and thought to himself, “No way I’m coming here.”

Yet here they are, two of Utes’ most prominent players, former high school quarterbacks and missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints who have thrived on campus and strongly support their experiences in Salt Lake City.
