Bray Wyatt makes long-awaited return to Extreme Rules
The star was released by WWE in July 2021, but his exciting re-introduction on Saturday adds more intrigue and anticipation to WWE.
The long-awaited return to WWE’s Extreme Rules has finally become a reality. Bray Wyatt out of the dark.
Wyatt, who has not wrestled since WrestleMania 37, was released by WWE three months later in July 2021. Since then, there has been a constant desire to learn his next move. This was revealed at Extreme Rules, where the show ended with a re-introduction of Wyatt, causing a crowd in Philadelphia.
Why was released

Bray Wyatt was reportedly informed by WWE talent relations executive John Laurinitis that his release from the company was due to budget cuts.
Several WWE stars have been released in recent months for financial reasons, including Alastair Black and Braun Strowman. According to Dave Meltzer of Wrestling Observer, Wyatt is the latest high-profile name to be released for that reason.
Meltzer also revealed that the 34-year-old was preparing to return in August after being away from WWE television for nearly four months. He was also booked for some WWE shows.
Greg Bush and Jeremy Bennett of Sportskeeda Wrestling discussed Wyatt’s departure shortly after WWE announced the news. Watch the video above to learn more about his exit, as well as the reactions of some of his former WWE coworkers.
Wyatt last appeared in WWE after WrestleMania 37 on the Firefly Fun House segment of Raw. Earlier, performing as The Fiend, he lost a six-minute match against Randy Orton at WrestleMania after diverting attention from two-time Universal Champion Alexa Bliss.
Eater of worlds
Since the return, ‘The Eater of Worlds’ has responded to a fan on social media, a mother who took a video of her baby when Wyatt returned awake all night. This caused Wyatt to publicly comment that this was the reason he returned to WWE.
Alexa Bliss also issued a brief commentary on the appearance, while Ricochet compared the former two-time Universal Champion’s reaction to “Road Warrior Pop”. Johnny Gargano just showed how shocked he was.
Although Wyatt initially walked on stage wearing a mask, he revealed his face indicating that he would be competing under that name rather than making an immediate return to The Fiend character. Currently, there is no formal information on what direction he will take at the company, which he has now reverted to after its release in July 2021.
