Anthony Marshon Davis Jr. (born March 11, 1993), also known by his initials AD, is an American professional basketball player for the Los Angeles Lakers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He plays power forward and center position. Davis is an eight-time NBA All-Star and has been named to four All-NBA First Teams and four NBA All-Defensive Teams. In his first season with the Lakers, he won the NBA Championship in 2020. In 2021, he was named to the NBA’s 75th anniversary squad.

Davis didn’t only average 4.7 blocks per game, setting the Kentucky Wildcats season record, SEC record and SEC freshman record. He also converted far more shots as a cornerstone of his team’s top five defense.
So, if Davis scores 14 points per game and blocks five shots, that’s roughly 12 shots per game. Say that two of their five blocks lead to a Kentucky run-out at the other end of the floor. It’s another two shots that Davis single-handedly made.
Then add in the countless other shots Davis turned, when opposing guards simply refuse to shoot into the paint or when the big guys pray high archers to get the ball at Davis’ fingers.
How many times did this happen in a game? Seven? thirty five? Unfortunately, no one kept track (though I’d bet these figures would be mind-blowing).
Taking a low estimate of seven and taking Davis’ total in a game comes down to 21 shots. Think about how incredible point-swing every single game is.

Anthony Davis, who played for Kentucky for the 2011–12 season, came in at number 46 on Hoopsheep’s list. While his UK stint was short, he made quite an impact by leading the Wildcats to the 2012 NCAA Championships.
During that season, Davis was named NCAA Final Four Most Outstanding Player and unanimously named National Player of the Year. A 5-star recruit from Chicago, Illinois, Davis was named to the first Team USA Today All-USA high school basketball team selection.
How a couple coped with cancer together
After his lone season with Kentucky, Davis was drafted first overall by the New Orleans Pelicans. As a pro, he is a four-time All-NBA First Team selection and an eight-time All-Star. In 2020, he won the NBA title with the Los Angeles Lakers.
