Injury:
Six weeks ago in March, Murray suffered a “freak” groin injury
at the Miami Open that he believed he sustained in the middle of the night. He was forced to withdraw and return to the increasingly tedious environment of injury rehab in London. “It has been extremely frustrating,” Murray says.
Next Match:
The two-time Wimbledon victor has faced years of injury woes but overcame No.24 seed Nikoloz Basilashvili to show that he still has plenty to offer the Men’s Singles game.
Murray triumphed 6-4 6-3 5-7 6-3 but he could’ve wrapped up the match far sooner as he had two match points in the third set that he failed to take.
The former World No.1 received a thunderous ovation upon his arrival to Centre Court and will be determined to make sure his efforts don’t go in vain and prove he can still weave his way through the rounds at the All England Club.
