Aaron James Judge (born April 26, 1992) is an American professional baseball outfielder for the New York Yankees of Major League Baseball (MLB). Judge was unanimously voted American League (AL) Rookie of the Year in 2017 and placed second in the voting for the AL Most Valuable Player Award.

Why is not in the home run derby
In 2019, the judge said, “(2017 home run derby) affected me because I had a shoulder injury.” People are saying, ‘Did it affect you?’ No, it was BP’s day. It doesn’t really affect me. If I hadn’t been hurt, it would have been a different story.”
The judge has indicated that he would be willing to participate if the Home Run Derby ever returns to New York. New York last hosted the All-Star Game in 2013, when it was held at Citi Field, home of the Mets. The Yankees last hosted the All-Star Game in 2008 at the old Yankee Stadium’s final year.
MLB has already selected All-Star Game locations for 2023 (T-Mobile Park in Seattle) and 2026 (Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia). The earliest the new Yankee Stadium could host the All-Star Game is in 2024. Judge, of course, will become a free agent after the season. Maybe he’s not a Yankee by then.
Where was born
Judge was adopted a day after being born by Patty and Wayne Judge, who both worked as teachers in Lyndon, California. When he was 10 or 11 years old, his parents told him he was adopted; “I knew I didn’t look like him,” he recalls. He has an older brother, John, who was also adopted. Judge is bilingual. Growing up, Judge was a fan of the San Francisco Giants.
Judge attended Lyndon High School, where he was a three-sport star. He played as a pitcher and first baseman for the baseball team, a wide receiver for the football team and a center for the basketball team. He set a school record for touchdowns (17) in football and led the basketball team in points per game (18.2). In baseball, he was part of the Lyndon High School team that made the California Interscholastic Federation Division III playoffs.
Free agency
If New York Yankees outfielder Aaron Judge stays on his current trajectory this season, he could reportedly work his way toward a $300 million contract.
Appearing Friday on The Rich Eisen Show, ESPN MLB insider Jeff Passon discussed Judge’s contract status before hitting up free agency at the conclusion of the 2022 campaign:
Beginning at the 2:50 mark of the video, Passan said: “If Aaron Judge stays healthy, he leads to a contract that starts at three.”
Judge and the Yankees were unable to come to a new contract before the start of the 2021 season, and at the time, Judge stated that he did not intend to hold contract talks during the season.
