Walk off:

The Yankees came into Sunday needing a win to get into the playoffs, but, of course, this team had to make it an emotional roller coaster to the end. After a season full of ups and downs, including three different COVID-19 outbreaks and nearly a dozen come-from-behind wins, it simply had to come down to the very last inning of the very last game of a 162-game season.

Aaron Judge drove a ground ball straight up the middle with one out in the ninth inning of Sunday’s regular-season finale to give the Yankees a 1-0 win over the Rays in front of a packed house at Yankee Stadium.

After splitting the first two games of the American League division series in Boston, the New York Yankees have to be feeling pretty confident as they head home for Game 3 on Monday night.

On his way out of Fenway Park to get on the Yankees team bus following Saturday night’s 6-2 win in Game 2, outfielder Aaron Judge uninhibitedly had the volume on his boombox turned up loud enough to echo through the bowels on Fenway Park.

Postseason stats:

Aaron Judge has played 6 seasons for the Yankees. He has a .276 batting average, 562 hits, 155 home runs, 357 RBIs and 394 runs scored.

Ever wonder how cool it must feel to walk in Yankees rookie right fielder Aaron Judge’s shoes nowadays?

Well, if you’ve got really big feet.

The Major League’s home run leader is such a hot commodity nowadays that the Yankees built a new section in right field in his honor that opened Monday night … The Judge’s Chambers.

And when Judge showed up for the start of a Yankees homestand, a 4-2 win over the Kansas City Royals, there were 20 boxes of gifted sneakers from Under Armour piled up at the foot of an empty neighboring locker.
