Head swelling
Joanna Jedrzejczyk is suffering with Head swelling. In the third round, Weiley unloaded a string of electric punches at Jedrzejczyk, causing an unusual swelling on the Polish fighter’s forehead. The Polish martial arts icon fought her way to the bitter end of the women’s strawweight fight at UFC 248 back in March. The encounter left her with a bloodied face and a forehead so swollen that she looked almost unrecognizable.
Knockout
Zhang Weili knocked out Joanna with a devastating spinning backfist in their UFC 275 rematch.
Jedrzejczyk and Zhang produced arguably the greatest fight in women’s MMA history when they first met at UFC 248 in 2020. Jedrzejic was left ruthlessly deformed after taking a heavy shot to the head from his Zhang in a three-round fight, losing an extremely close split decision.
The pair picked up where they left off in their first fight, kicking and punching heavily in the legs. Jedrzejczyk landed a hard low kick that toppled his opponent, but Zhang took Jedrzejczyk down and landed on the hard ground and pounded.
Early in the second round, Jedrzejski made a one-two attempt that missed as Zhang countered with a spinning backfist that landed cleanly on Jedrzejczyk’s chin. Referee Mark Goddard immediately waved off the fight as Jedrzejski lay face down on canvas.
Next Fight
Joanna Jedrzejczyk’s next fight will be announced later.
