Tyshun Raequan “Deebo” Samuel (born January 15, 1996) is an American football wide receiver for the San Francisco 49ers of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in South Carolina and was drafted by the 49ers in the second round of the 2019 NFL Draft. In 2021, he was selected for the Pro Bowl and received first-team All-Pro honors.

Looks like Deebo Samuel’s brother wasn’t kidding when he said a business request was coming soon.
ESPN’s Jeff Darlington talks to the 49ers receiver on Wednesday. He reveals that Samuel has actually asked the team to trade him.
This puts the 49ers in a difficult position. Samuel was their top receiver in 2021, recording 77 catches for 1,405 yards and six touchdowns, while averaging a league-high 18.2 yards per catch. He was also a key factor in the running game, as he ran for 365 yards and eight touchdowns on 59 carries.
Samuel’s role as a multi-faceted weapon in San Francisco’s offense was crucial to the Niners leading up to the NFC Championship Game in 2022. However, this role may be the root of Samuel’s problem with the team.
Vikings
Dibo Samuel is a dynamic player who can do a lot in the air or on the ground. Now that Samuel has reportedly asked the 49ers to be traded, several teams, including the Minnesota Vikings, will be interested in the exciting playmaker.
Of course, Minnesota would be hard-pressed to make room for the financially disgruntled wide receiver. Wherever Samuel goes, he probably wants a huge contract extension that is comparable to the ongoing rate of players in today’s market as he is in the fourth year of his rookie contract.
Still, the idea of Justin Jefferson and Adam Thielen doing harm in the same offense as Deebo Samuel is quite an intriguing idea. While that’s unlikely to happen, there’s enough reason to believe that the new Vikings GM would be interested in a deal.

San Francisco 49ers and do-it-all playmaker Deebo Samuel could be headed for a breakup as trade buzz grows ahead of the 2022 NFL season.
Speculation about the future of the 2021 Pro Bowl selection hit headlines in early April when the wide receiver removed all references to the Niners on his social media pages. Speculation became reality on Wednesday when ESPN’s Jeff Darlington spoke to Samuel, who confirmed he had requested trade from San Francisco.
Samuel, 26, is entering the final season of his four-year, $7.2 million rookie contract. Prior to the wide receiver’s request for a change of scenery, there was no indication that the parties were close to an agreement on an extension.
The 49ers were prepared to pay fair market value, but their top offensive weapon was unwilling to engage, ESPN’s Adam Schaffter reported on NFL Live (via Sports Illustrated’s Wilton Jackson) on Tuesday.
“This, I think right now, Debo Samuel doesn’t want to make a deal,” Schaffter said. “… the 49ers are ready. Deebo Samuel is the one who put everything on hold for now.”
San Francisco doesn’t have to do business. It could stand him in the final year of his contract and use the franchise tag to retain him until 2023. The question is whether Samuel might be ready to force the team’s hand in the face of business demands.
