Derrick Deshaun Watson is an American football quarterback for the Cleveland Browns of the National Football League. He played college football at Clemson, where he led the team to a national championship in 2016. Watson was selected in the first round of the 2017 NFL Draft by the Houston Texans.

Lawsuit 2022:
The Browns met with controversial Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson on Tuesday, and could be in the running to trade for him despite his legal troubles involving multiple sexual assault and harassment allegations.
Members of the Browns organization flew to Houston to speak with Watson in person amid his legal battle involving 22 massage therapists who have accused him of alleged sexual assault and harassment.
The Browns have done extensive homework on Watson, and the meeting was the next step toward possibly executing a blockbuster trade for the three-time Pro Bowler.
Sexual Assault:
The criminal investigation in Harris County (where Houston is located) is over, but Watson still faces 22 civil suits. Those proceedings are separate from the grand jury’s decision.
Ashley Solis, a 28-year-old licensed massage therapist, filed the first lawsuit against Watson almost exactly one year ago.
Watson sat through depositions related to two of those cases on Friday. On Tuesday before his meetings with the Browns, Watson sat through depositions for two more civil cases.
Released:
During those depositions, he answered questions under oath for the first time, the plaintiffs’ lawyer Tony Buzbee said, according to Houston affiliate KHOU 11.
Buzbee is the lawyer representing all of the plaintiffs in the lawsuits. As of right now, no trial dates for the lawsuits have been set.
Watson has denied any wrongdoing, and his lawyer, Rusty Hardin, has said any sexual acts that happened during massage appointments were consensual. Watson still wishes to be traded, and that’s why teams met with him this week at the start of the legal tampering period.
