Stephen Curry returned from injury to help the Golden State Warriors to an easy 123-107 victory over the Denver Nuggets in their opening game of the NBA play-offs.

Curry had missed the past 12 games with a sprained ankle ligament but added 16 points in 22 minutes off the bench.

Jordan Poole, who started ahead of Curry, led the Warriors with 30 points as he impressed on his play-off debut. “He’s demonstrated he’s ready for pretty much any moment,” said Curry.

Ranking:

Kevin Durant vs. Jayson Tatum is simply too good for the first round. Those two heavyweight stars are worth the price of admission alone, and that’s before you get into the Kyrie Irving–Boston rivalry, the disappointment that will come for whoever goes home in the first round, and the battle between an elite defense and two of the best pure scorers ever.

It’s very rare for a series this early in the playoffs to have such high stakes. Both of these teams expect to make the conference finals at the very least. Brooklyn could be staring at three years of having Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving on the roster with at most a second-round appearance to show for it.

NBA Playoff predictions: Nets and Hawks advance past play-in

How will Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving mesh when the play in comes calling? That was a major question heading into Tuesday’s game against the Cavaliers. Irving more than answered the call hitting on his first 12 shots of the game en route to scoring 34 points in a 115-108 win over Cleveland to set up a matchup against the Boston Celtics in the first round of the NBA Playoffs.

Now that the 2021-22 regular season is a thing of the past, it’s time to check in on our NBA Playoff predictions.

It was an odd season around the Association with the Los Angeles Lakers struggling big time and missing out on the postseason. Meanwhile, up-and-comers such as the Memphis Grizzlies and Cleveland Cavaliers have made some noise.
