The 2022 NCAA Tournament is officially underway, and one of the sport’s biggest brands was among the winners on Tuesday night. Indiana won its first NCAA Tournament game since 2016, beating Wyoming 66–58 to win the first four battles between the No. 12 seeds. The Hoosiers will go on to play No. 5 seed St. Mary’s in East Region action on Thursday. Trace Jackson-Davis led the Hoosiers with 29 points and Jordan Geronimo added 15 points off the bench. Hunter Maldonado led Wyoming with 21 points as the Cowboys’ season ended with a 25–9 scoreline under coach Jeff Linder of the second year.
The 2022 NCAA Tournament is finally here after two first four games on The Big Dance Tuesday and two more scheduled for Wednesday. On Tuesday it was Indiana and Texas Southern going into the big bracket. Bryant vs. Wright State on Wednesday is followed by Notre Dame vs. Rutgers.
The first four games will serve as delicious appetizers for the main course starting with the first round on Thursday.
Making things even more interesting is that the odds and experts are divided as to which team they hope to lead. All four game spreads are four points or less, which sets the stage for a monumental tournament full of ups and downs and surprises over the remaining few weeks.
While staying alive and moving forward is clearly what matters most, what we care about is whether these teams will cover their spread.
