Law Suit:
A federal judge in North Carolina has granted Zion Williamson partial judgment in his lawsuit against a former marketing agent who sued the New Orleans Pelicans star for $100 million in damages claiming breach of contract.
In Wednesday’s ruling, U.S. District Court Judge Loretta C. Biggs voided Williamson’s marketing agreement with Gina Ford and Prime Sports Marketing because it didn’t meet the requirements of North Carolina’s Uniform Athlete Agents Act.
Specifically, Biggs ruled that Williamson was a student-athlete at Duke when he engaged with Ford’s company; he had not been declared permanently ineligible by the NCAA; Ford was not a certified agent in North Carolina; the agreement did not include the required warnings under the law; and Williamson and his family communicated to Ford that they were terminating and voiding the contract.

As expected, a broken finger on Zion Williamson left hand will keep Williamson out for the remainder of the campaign. Williamson had a very successful sophomore season, as he made the All-Star Game and averaged 27.0 points on 61.1 percent shooting, 7.2 rebounds and 3.7 assists in 33.2 minutes. He could enter next season as a darkhorse MVP candidate, especially if he can score at least 30 points per game.
8th Grade:
Zion Williamson attended Spartanburg Day School, a small K–12 private school in Spartanburg, South Carolina, where he played basketball for the Griffins. Between eighth and ninth grade, he grew from 5 ft 9 in (1.75 m) to 6 ft 3 in (1.91 m).
But before his days at Duke, Williamson was an even more difficult mismatch for opponents — a fact shown by a viral video of his earlier playing days.
In the widely shared video, Williamson is marked by a much smaller opponent, who claps and hypes his teammates up. Despite the daunting task ahead of him, the defender, Bryson Bishop, is all confidence.
