Zion Latif Williamson (born July 6, 2000) is an American professional basketball player for the New Orleans Pelicans of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He plays the power forward position. After a fresh-year stint with the Duke Blue Devils, Williamson was selected by the Pelicans as the first overall pick in the 2019 NBA Draft. He was named to the NBA All-Rookie First Team in 2020. In 2021, he became the fourth youngest NBA player to be selected for the All-Star Game.

Contract extension
Williamson and the team quickly agreed on a five-year rookie maximum extension worth at least $193 million. The new deal will open at the start of the 2023–24 season, and if Williamson makes an All-NBA team or wins a bigger prize next season, that figure could rise to $231 million.
