Postgame interview
The momentum for Sunday’s game between the New England Patriots and the New York Jets came down to a single game.
The Patriots trailed New York by seven points with 37 seconds remaining in the first half when quarterback Mac Jones threw an 84-yard pick-six to Jets cornerback Michael Carter II. Carter’s interception was quelled by a rough-the-passer penalty on the Jets’ defensive end John Franklin-Myers, however, and the Patriots kicked a field goal after three plays and 17-3 instead of 10-. 6 to half went back.
That 10-point swing proved crucial, as New England won 22–17 to improve the season to 4–4. It also did not seem controversial, as Franklin-Myers apparently forced Jones after the QB threw the ball.
But the Jets were not happy with the call after the game.
Head coach Robert Saleh did nothing to hide his disdain when asked what the officials told him about the hit.
“Yeah, (Jones) was hit very hard,” Saleh said.
Jets quarterback Zach Wilson was more direct when asked about the Franklin-Myers penalty.
“Yeah, it was a terrible call,” Wilson told reporters at his postgame press conference. “But that’s football. It happens all the time.”
Interception
Zack Wilson had a game to forget on Sunday.
The New York Jets quarterback was a turnover machine against the New England Patriots, throwing three interceptions in a 22–17 defeat at MetLife Stadium.
Wilson threw for a season-high 355 yards but made some questionable decisions, especially in the second half where he had two interceptions.
His third and final pick was probably his worst, rolling to his right outside the pocket while under pressure before setting himself up and tossing the ball toward Tyler Conklin’s tight end in a sea of four Patriots.
The ball went over Conklin’s head and went straight into the hands of Devin McCourty.
Head coach Robert Saleh said after the game that Wilson had been tasked with playing a really good defense, but still needed to get better.
Saleh said, ‘He has to play better.
Fans and the media on social media seemed to agree as Wilson was roasted online, especially after his final interception.
Bust
When the 171st player picked in the NFL Draft looks better than the 2nd player taken overall, it tells a lot.
That’s exactly what’s happening for the New York Jets this season.
Quarterback Mike White, who was a fifth-round draft choice for Dallas in 2018, has shown more against New England, Cincinnati and Indianapolis than Zach Wilson has shown throughout the season.
The difference between the two was immediately visible when White entered the game against the Patriots, when he took over for the injured Wilson.
Wilson was looking very bad early in the game. Jet crime was raging. They looked conservative, timid and had no rhythm or tempo.
White came in and immediately he looked quicker and the offense was running more efficiently.
Even the 31st-ranked offensive line allowed per game, suddenly looking better at pass safety since Wilson was out. Rekha was giving an average of 3.6 sacks per game.
That number has come down to an average of 2.0 sacks in the last three games, and the same offensive line is now at 27th position.
Is mormon
One of the reasons I’m fit for a BYU signal-caller is that Zach Wilson is Mormon.
However, Wilson is not an active member of the church. The Utah native explained that while he is a member of the church, he is not an active member and does not consider himself a representative of Mormonism like some other famous BYU alums, such as former NBA guard Zimmer Fredett and NFL player Tessam Hill. and Daniel Sorensen. Wilson says:
It’s not something I’m against, it’s just that I didn’t become active in the church. I am not that ‘poster boy’ for the church. … I was never really going to go to church in my entire life, just not involved much. My family and I share the same morals and values that the church certainly does, but I didn’t really know much about teaching and stuff until I got into BYU.

Wilson went down with a non-contact injury during the Jets’ preseason game versus the Philadelphia Eagles on Friday. He was diagnosed with a bone injury and a meniscus tear, which required arthroscopic surgery. The initial timeline was a recovery period of 2 to 4 weeks, excluding any unforeseen problems during surgery.
What is Zach Wilson Salary?
Wilson agreed a four-year, $35,150,681 deal with the New York Jets that included an annual salary average of $8,787,670, a signing bonus of $22,924,132 and a guarantee of $35,150,681.
Is Zach Wilson Healthy?
Wilson’s surgery went well, meaning that even if he missed week 1 the following month, he would still be healthy for most of the 2022 season.
