Zach LaVine met his longtime girlfriend Hunter Marr while he attended Bothell High School in Bothell, Washington. Mara and LaVine remained together when they played their lone season at UCLA. Mara played college football at the University of Seattle. She went to Minneapolis when she was a first-round selection (number 13 overall) by the Minnesota Timberwolves in the 2014 NBA Draft. The couple moved to Chicago when LaVine was traded to the Bulls in a deal that included sending Chris Dunn, Laurie Markkennon and Lavin to the Windy City for Jimmy Butler and Justin Patton.

Zach LaVine recently underwent an MRI that revealed what the Chicago Bulls All-Star guard had called “a small tear in the tendon” after the team’s Wednesday practice. LaVine was a partial participant in the exercise, and did so with thumb tape. Bulls head coach Billy Donovan said he would not call the injury serious, but called it “more than mild”. Donovan said LaVine’s status will be based on how he physically reacts and interacts with the team’s medical staff.
