2022 Money in the Bank was the 13th annual Money in the Bank professional wrestling live event produced by WWE. It was held for wrestlers from the promotion’s Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. The event aired worldwide on pay-per-view (PPV) and was available to livestream through Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network internationally. It took place on Saturday, July 2, 2022 at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada, a suburb of Las Vegas; It was originally scheduled to be held at the Allegiant Stadium in the city. Men’s Money in the Bank Ladder Match – Drew McIntyre vs. Seth Rollins vs. Riddle vs. Sami Zayn vs. Madcap Moss vs. Sheamus vs. Omos vs. Theory: Theory was added late in the match announced by authority figure Adam Pierce. It was teased during the match that Vince McMahon had gifted Theory the spot when he lost the United States title to Bobby Lashley earlier in the night. Moss tossed and slammed her down the various stairs, Zayn hurled some serious abuse. Riddle was crazy the whole time. One match highlight saw Param Bhai hurl a floating bro down the ladder at his opponents. Omos ran into the competition for a moment, but eventually his size got the better of him. The rest of the field together hoisted him high and pushed him through the announcer’s table. McIntyre was on his way to retrieve the briefcase, but Butch stopped him. Riddle removes Rollins from the equation with a Super RKO. The victory was almost his, but Theory swooped in at the last minute and grabbed the briefcase. Contestants lined their bodies with several large spots. It was a chaotic match with many credible contenders. It probably won’t be the biggest Money in the Bank ladder match, but it was a lot of fun. Theory def. The one title that won’t be on the line is WWE’s top title as undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns was out for a second consecutive pay-per-view amid his new part-time schedule. Reigns hasn’t defended any of his World Championships on pay-per-view since WrestleMania 38.
Money in the Bank 2022 was originally scheduled to take off from Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Nev. Due to low ticket sales for the huge venue, the event was moved to the smaller, more intimate MGM Grand Garden Arena. Former WWE Superstar and current AEW World Champion CM Punk left no chance to troll WWE. As of this writing, the event is almost a sell-off at its new home.

SmackDown Women’s Championship – Ronda Rousey (C) vs. Liv Morgan: Morgan didn’t wait long to cash in on the Money in the Bank briefcase. Rousey was limping during and after her successful title defense against Natalya. Crowds erupted as Morgan’s music hit and the ringside announcer confirmed she was cashing in her briefcase. Rousey snapped an extended ankle lock that had fans questioning whether WWE was going to spoil Morgan’s big moment. Morgan eventually counted into a schoolboy roll-up for the count of three. The crowd erupted with joy as the moment of Morgan’s coronation arrived. The execution of the roll-up was messy, but who cares? It was a happy moment; Sometimes it’s all about pro wrestling.
