2022 Hell in a Cell was the 14th annual Hell in a Cell professional wrestling live event produced by WWE. It was held for wrestlers from the promotion’s Raw and SmackDown brand divisions. The event aired worldwide on pay-per-view (PPV) and was available to livestream through Peacock in the United States and the WWE Network internationally. It took place on June 5, 2022 at the Allstate Arena in the Chicago suburb of Rosemont, Illinois.

WWE Hell in a Cell 2022 from Chicago, Ill advertised a Hell in a Cell match between an injured Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins in Part 3 of their current feud. Rhodes defeated Rollins in his last two pay-per-view matches. At Hell in a Cell, Bianca Belair defended the Raw Women’s Championship against Asuka and Becky Lynch in a triple threat match. The only SmackDown match pitted Happy Corbin against Madcap.
Hell in a Cell was linked to rumors of Bray Wyatt returning to WWE. The speculation fueled after Voight changed his Twitter handle to Voyt6.
Wyatt said in a cryptic tweet, “All the good that’s happened to me was the first period of terrible agony.”
“I never ask why, I just wait for some part to finish. I was picked on for whatever reason. And I have shit to do. It doesn’t hurt anymore, it burns.”

Although he did not return to Hell in a Cell, Wyatt would be a welcome addition to the WWE roster, with both Roman Reigns and Randy Orton currently inactive. WWE could go on without Cody Rhodes, who suffered a partially torn pectoral muscle.

Belair was constantly in danger of losing its championship. She was clearly the most impressive presence of the match. Asuka and Lynch retaliated with quick exchanges and opportunistic pinfalls to try to take the title away from WWE’s EST. Lynch nearly won the title after landing a guillotine leg drop on Belair off the middle rope. “The Man” continued to advance the contest, punishing Belair with a top rope leg drop. “The Empress of Tomorrow” eventually found its groove, landing a near pinfall on Lynch after a series of blows. A standing moon of Belair nearly pinned both Asuka and Lynch together. The trio teased a Tower of Doom, but Belair backed out of the ropes and was eaten by a Codebreaker by Asuka, who also gave up on Lynch. Asuka hit both women with a dazzling magician and inflicted double ankle locks on her opponents. A man handle slam put Belair away for good but Asuka saved the day. The less experienced Belair closed the show by using Lynch’s tactics against him. Lynch engaged Asuka with a man handle slam only for Belair to toss his foe out of the ring. The champion pinned a defenseless Asuka to retain her title. A great way to start the evening. Fast-paced action, fluid and creative offense. Everyone gave big. Bianca Belair def. Asuka and Becky Lynch retained the Raw Women’s Championship. grade A.

Cody Rhodes and Seth Rollins turn in a Hell in a Cell match to remember at WWE’s Titanic event. Rhodes vs. Rollins 3 headlined a solid, well-running night of sports entertainment at the Allstate Arena in Rosemont, Illinois.
The rivalry between Rhodes and Rollins has continued since Rhodes jumped from AEW and returned to WWE at WrestleMania 38 in April. Both the superstars delivered a daring, thought-provoking performance in what could be the final entry in this pocket of their rivalry. Shortly before the incident, Rhodes suffered a complete pectoral tear. The visuals were disturbing as Rhodes’ chest and biceps turned dark purple. Rhodes a bit down and overcoming the pain to get a third straight win over Rollins.
Analysis
Hell in a Cell 2022 will be remembered for one thing and one thing only: Cody Rhodes’ torn pec. Going to the event, WWE revealed that Rhodes had torn his PC in the days before the show. This brought the main battle into question. Not only was Rhodes’ injury more bizarre than imagined, he worked the entire 25-minute Hell in a Cell match against Seth Rollins. He emerged victorious by winning his third classic of a match.
The injury could be too serious for some – it took a stunned Chicago crowd a few minutes to believe what they were seeing. But if you can digest it, the main event was incredible.

It also had to happen, as it was close to a one-match show. Bianca Belair defeated Asuka and Becky Lynch in the opening match to retain her Raw Women’s Championship. It was a wonderful match. However, there was a lot of ups and downs between the opener and the close. The card was mostly filled with feuds that have run their course: Kevin Owens, Bobby Lashley and Madcap Moss could be headed for better things after tonight.

What a farce it was. The WWE announcers told us that Cody Rhodes injured his pec coming into this match. That’s no spin; That injury was very real, as we learned that Cody had taken off his coat, injuring his right shoulder.
