According to a new report from The Wall Street Journal, Vince McMahon, who last month as WWE CEO pending the results of an investigation into alleged misconduct, paid $12 million to four different women.
The amount and scope of the payoff is much larger than what is already known. Stephanie McMahon, Vince’s daughter and longtime executive at the company, has assumed the position of CEO on an interim basis in recent weeks during an investigation by a special committee of the company’s board of directors.
WWE’s head of talent relations, John Laurinitis, is also the subject of a board investigation.
Who did settle with
WWE’s Vince McMahon and Oliver Luck have settled in a wrongful termination lawsuit over their failed attempt to reboot the XFL.
According to TMZ Sports, the case was expected to come up for hearing on July 11, but court documents filed last week said the two sides “reached an agreement to settle the matter on June 16.”
Luck, who is the father of former NFL quarterback Andrew Luck, was appointed by McMahon as commissioner and CEO of the XFL and his contract was terminated when the league folded and filed for bankruptcy in early 2020.
According to TMZ Sports, Luck alleged in his lawsuit that McMahon “essentially fired him so that he could not be paid the millions he said he owed.” A previous report said that Luck was seeking $23.8 million in pay and damages. McMahon later filed a counterclaim, claiming that Luck was fired for the cause.
Grandchildren
The McMahon family tree, as mentioned earlier, is extensive and becomes even more alive when grandchildren come into the picture. Shane and Stephanie have three children each.
That is, Vince and Linda McMahon have six grandchildren on their shoulders. We haven’t seen many grandchildren, but they make regular appearances in WWE, documentaries, and sometimes the White House.
When Linda was sworn in as a part of the Trump administration, she brought all six to her support!
