Viktor Hovland (born 18 September 1997) is a Norwegian professional golfer who plays on the PGA Tour. He won the 2018 United States Amateur Championship and then became the first Norwegian to win the PGA Tour (at the 2020 Puerto Rico Open) and the European Tour (at the 2021 BMW International Open). Hovland secured his second and third PGA Tour victories at the 2020 and 2021 Mayakoba Golf Classics.

Bio
Hovland played college golf at Oklahoma State University. In 2014, Hovland won the Norwegian Amateur Golf Championship.
Howland won the 2018 US Amateur, the first Norwegian player to do so, and received invitations to the 2019 Masters tournament, the 2019 US Open, and the 2019 Open Championship. He played as an amateur at the 2018 Emirates Australian Open, finishing tied for 13th place.
Hovland was less amateur in the 2019 Masters Tournament, par three-under in a tie for 32nd. With this performance he reached number one in the world amateur golf rankings. At the 2019 US Open, he finished 12th and was a lesser amateur with a score of 280. It was the lowest 72-hole score by an amateur at the US Open, breaking the previous record of 282 set by Jack Nicklaus in 1960. , He became the first player since Matt Kutcher in 1998 to win lower amateur honors at both the Masters and the US Open in the same season. In 2019, he was the recipient of the Ben Hogan Award, which was awarded to the best college player in the United States.

Howland has six wins as a professional, including three wins on the PGA Tour: the 2020 Puerto Rico Open (20-under 268); 2020 Mayakoba Golf Classic (20-under 264); and the 2021 World Wide Technology Championships (23-under 261).
With his victory at the 2020 Puerto Rico Open, Hovland became the first Norwegian golfer to win on the PGA Tour. He also made history as the first Norwegian to win on the European Tour by winning the 2021 BMW International Open (19-under 269).
