Vikings Training Camp Day 6: Key Medical Updates

The Minnesota Vikings are moving through training camp with mostly good news on the injury front.

Josh Metellus Returns to Practice

Safety Josh Metellus was back on the field Monday after missing two days with an ankle injury. His return is a boost for the Vikings’ defense, as he looked ready and comfortable during drills.

Justin Jefferson Still Out

Star wide receiver Justin Jefferson did not practice Monday. He’s recovering from a mild hamstring strain. The team is being careful, and there’s no rush to bring him back too soon.

Will Fries Steps into Team Drills

Offensive lineman Will Fries had been doing only individual work during the first week of camp. On Monday, he joined full 11-on-11 team drills as the starting right guard. This is a big step forward in his return from a season-ending injury in 2024.

Christian Darrisaw Progressing

Left tackle Christian Darrisaw, also coming back from a 2024 injury, is practicing in individual drills. The team is easing him back into full action.

Chaz Chambliss Activated

Rookie edge rusher Chaz Chambliss, who started on the PUP list, was activated and practiced on Monday. Chambliss is an undrafted free agent from Georgia.
Now, the only player left on the Vikings’ PUP list is tight end Gavin Bartholomew.
