Valery Ivanovich Nichushkin (Russian: алерий ванович ичушкин; born March 4, 1995) is a Russian professional ice hockey right winger who currently plays for the Colorado Avalanche of the National Hockey League (NHL). He was selected by the Dallas Stars in the first round of the 10th round of the 2013 NHL Entry Draft. Nychushkin won the Stanley Cup in 2022 with the Avalanche.

COVID
Nichushkin was named to the NHL’s COVID-19 protocol on Monday.
Nichushkin averaged 18:27 on ice time – during a 2:19 man advantage – and recorded 17 points on 22 appearances this season. He recently missed four games in January while recovering from an upper body injury. The 26-year-old will at least miss Monday’s match against Wilde.
Wife
Valery Nychushkin is not married, but is reported to be engaged to his girlfriend Svetlana Luk (Lana Luk). The couple reportedly held their engagement on January 6, 2018.
His fiancee Svetlana is a social media personality and IG model and owns her own clothing line named LAVARICE.
Contract
The team announced Monday that it has re-signed Valery Nichushkin to an eight-year, $49 million contract extension ahead of the opening of unrestricted free agency on Wednesday.
This comes out to a salary cap hit of $6.125 million per season.
Without a new deal Nichushkin would have been one of the top players to enter unrestricted free agency this summer. Now he is living in Colorado.
Next Contract
The agreement places Nychushkin under contract in Colorado during the 2029-30 season. The Athletic reported that the deal totaled $49 million.
Nychushkin scored 25 goals and 27 assists in 62 regular-season games in 2021–22, and he added nine goals and six assists in 15 postseason games.
During his seven-year NHL career, which included four seasons with the Stars and three seasons with the Colorado, he has recorded 71 goals and 103 assists in 405 regular-season games.
