A middleweight bout between Derek Brunson and former UFC Welterweight Championship challenger Darren Till headlined the event. They were originally expected to serve as the main event for a planned event on August 14, but the date was scrapped.

Several bouts were also booked to take place at the planned August 14 event, before being rescheduled to this date

Paddy:

Till requires a CT scan and clearance from an ENT (eye, nose, and throat) doctor to avoid being on the shelf until March 4, 2022. Other fighters from Saturday’s card listed as potentially being out for six months are Tom Aspinall (right hand), Alex Morono (left knee), David Zawada (nose), Khalil Rountree (left hand), Modestas Bukauskas (nose, left knee), Paddy Pimblett (right thumb), Molly McCann (hands), and Jack Shore (left shoulder).

Bukauskas appearing on the list is a surprise to no one as he suffered one of the roughest losses at UFC Vegas 36 when Rountree stopped him with an oblique kick. The finish sparked debate among fighters, fans, and media as to whether the leg strike should be banned.
