In the second half of the main event, Charles Oliveira pulled in an even more impressive figure of $1.29 million through his base salary of $750k, $500k from pay-per-views, and $32k from other promotional bonuses.

In the co-main event, T.J. Dilshaw earned a total of $120k, while Bantamweight Champion Aljaman Sterling was paid $670k, which includes his pay-per-view shares and winning bonuses.

In the much-anticipated bantamweight clash between former champions Petr Yan and Sean O’Malley, the Russian earned $270k, while ‘Sugar’ took home a huge fight purse of $470k.

In another lightweight matchup on the main card, No. 6-ranked contender Benil Daryush took home $310k, while his rival Mateusz Gamarot raked in $80k.

Islam Makhchef defeated Charles Oliveira and became the new lightweight champion at the UFC 280 event which was held in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates. The winner of the fight will later receive a title shot at a future pay-per-view for the lightweight title. On the undercard, Aljaman Sterling defeated T.J. Defended his title against Dilshaw. As UFC 280 came to an end, Khamzat Chimaev attacked Khabib and Islam outside the ring, setting the tone for the next UFC pay-per-view. But for now we have guaranteed wallet payments of all the fighters involved in UFC 280.

Charles Oliveira Purse: Reported guaranteed payouts for both fighters, Oliveira currently holds a contract with the UFC worth $750k per PPV fight. He also receives a percentage of the proceeds from PPV sales, which are usually disclosed a few weeks after the fight. The clause includes a tier-based PPV revenue share, where if the minimum PPV sales objective is met, Oliveira will take home up to $500,000 from just the PPV share. In total he can withdraw about $1.29 million from this fight.

Not only did Mkhachev defeat Charles Oliveira in Saturday’s UFC 280 main event to become the UFC Lightweight Champion, he also earned an additional $50,000 by picking up his first Performance of the Night bonus. This is his second UFC bonus overall after scoring Fight of the Night with Armaan Tsarukyan in August 2019.

The second performance of the evening went to Belal Muhammad, who ended Sean Brady with a standing TKO to extend his unbeaten streak to nine straight fights. Muhammad’s previous four victories have come against opponents of all ranks, Brady, Vicente Luke, Stephen “Wonderboy” Thompson and Damien Maia.

UFC 280 Fight of the Night Award goes to Sean O’Malley and Petr Yan. O’Malley won a controversial split decision victory over the former bantamweight champion, but there was no question of the entertainment value of the bout as the two fighters busted each other for three rounds.
