“Pound-for-pound. Headshot. Dead,” Edwards told UFC commentator Joe Rogan during his post-fight interview. “I said that all week I thought this was my moment. Everything that happened in the past. The last two years, the pandemic. There’s no ring rust. I told you, look at me now.”

Edwards improved to 20–3 (1 NC) with a win over Osman. His undefeated streak became 11. Usman saw his 19 fight winning streak in the blink of an eye and suffered his first loss in nine years.

It was the fourth latest finish in a championship fight – just seconds short of Osman’s Colby Covington’s own finish in 2019.

Osman remained optimistic about his future. The former champion took to Twitter and promised to return with a vengeance.
