UFC 275 marked the first time the country of Singapore hosted a multi-billion dollar promotional pay-per-view event. The event took place on 11 June and was highlighted by a light heavyweight title match between Jiri Prochazka and Glover Teixeira.

Many interesting matchups took place in the prelims of Fight Card. A middleweight clash between Brendan Allen and Jacob Malcon was part of the opening card of the event.

Seung Woo Choi and Joshua Kulibao also went head-to-head in a featherweight fight on June 11.

Jake Matthews vs Andre Fialho was supposed to take place in the prelims, but the fight went to the main card after the cancellation of Menal Cape vs Rosario Bontorin.

Joshua Kulibao and Seung Woo Choi stole the show in Kallang, Singapore, and delivered a barn-burner. The two featherweights made it out for round three, and the fight ended with a split decision victory for Kulibao.

The action-packed fight saw both men trading heavy leather for most of the fight, firing hard shots at each other. None of the fighters refused to back down and provided a spectacular fifteen minutes of action for the fans.

UFC 275, which kicks off in Singapore on Saturday, was a night full of shocks, surprises and most importantly, action.

The main event saw Light Heavyweight Champion Glover Teixeira, 42, looking to continue his late career revival and feel-good story against modern-day samurai Jiri Prochazka. Young vs. Experience was the clear story, and the fight was a good one.

In the co-main event, Valentina Shevchenko was paired against Tala Santos. While some saw Brazil’s Santos as a great opportunity against Shevchenko’s dominant force, he surprised many. When the fight rolled around, she took an early lead, taking care of her strength and grappling ability. This forced Shevchenko to fight to get out of the hole – although she did the same, winning a split decision after five full rounds.

In one of the biggest rematches in years, meanwhile, Weili Zhang stunned returnee Joanna Jedrzejic with a spinning back fist, to secure her spot as the next title challenger. The second-round KO defeated Poland’s Jedrzejczyk, who hadn’t fought in two years – and who announced his retirement after the bout.
