The rematch performed a more extended version of “The Predator”. He raised his spots, deployed some leg kicks and demonstrated superior takedown defense against the man who is recognized as the greatest heavyweight in UFC history. Miocic saw a completely different fighter this time and caused confusion on his face as he struggled to find his way inside in the opening round.
After absorbing a few leg streaks, Miocic attempted to duck under Nagannu and secure a takedown. But in a new development, Ngannou stretches out, finds Miocic’s back and opens a barrage of attacks. To the credit of Miocic, he survived the attack and advanced to the next round.
Recent Match
The Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) will return to the stage of UFC 260 later tonight (Sat, Mar. 27, 2021) live on ESPN PPV from inside UFC APEX in Las Vegas, Nevada. The PPV main event will feature a rematch between UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and No. 1 contender Francis Nganno.
The 260 undercard matches will play in devastating fashion before the heavyweight headliner matches UFC’s underwater. From the co-main event between former UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley and Vicente Luke to the bantamweight clash featuring Sean O’Malley and Thomas Almeida, the UFC 260 should be able to deliver from start to finish.
New Heavyweight Champion
LAS VEGAS – Francis Neganou claimed the UFC Heavyweight Championship on Saturday night at UFC 260 with a second-round opening strike preventing Stepp Miosik.
Ngannou (11-2) avenged his failure to Miocic in 2018 by showcasing what he has learned in three years during a dominant win. Africa’s first UFC heavyweight champion twice matched Miocic (21-3) in the second round, ending the match in a 52-second round.
Odds
Ngannou is a -125 favorite ($ 125 risk to win $ 100), while Miocic is a 105 swamp in the latest Ngannou vs. Miocic odds from the William Hill Sportsbook. In the co-main event, welterweights collide as Vicente Luque (-260), taking on former champion Tiron Woodley.
