Thornton, who posted the fastest 40-yard-dash time in the 2022 NFL Scouting Combine, was drafted 50th overall by the Patriots on Friday night. New England began a trade with the Kansas City Chiefs to advance to the second round of the 2022 NFL Draft.
The 6-foot-2, 181-pound Thornton could bring the explosiveness needed in the Patriots’ offense. He has also received high marks for his route-running.
