Tyronn Jamar Lue (pronounced Ta-RON LEW born May 3, 1977) is an American professional basketball coach and former player who is the head coach of the Los Angeles Clippers of the National Basketball Association (NBA). He also previously served as the head coach of the Cleveland Cavaliers.

Coaching career
On October 23, 2009, the Boston Celtics named Lew its director of basketball development. In July 2013, he joined the Los Angeles Clippers’ coaching staff. On June 23, 2014, Lew joined the Cleveland Cavaliers as associate head coach, becoming the highest-paid assistant coach in the NBA. Lew was a top candidate for the Cavaliers head coaching job, which eventually went to David Blatt.
On January 22, 2016, Lew was named head coach of the Cavaliers shortly after Blatt’s mid-season firing. He was signed to a three-year contract. Lew coached the Cavaliers to the NBA Championship that spring. In May, the Cavaliers defeated the Toronto Raptors in Game 2 of the Eastern Conference Finals, continuing their unbeaten streak in the 2016 playoffs and making Lew the first coach in NBA history to win their first 10 post-season games. Eight days later, Lew led the Cavaliers to the NBA Finals, becoming one of the few coaches to reach the Finals after becoming head coach in midseason. The Cavaliers won their first NBA championship on June 19, 2016. Lew became the second rookie head coach to win the title in two years, the third head coach (with Paul Westhead in 1979–80 and Pat Riley in 1981–82) to win the championship after becoming head coach in midseason, and the 14th one head coach. Coaching record
Lew opted for an early entry into the 1998 NBA draft. He was selected 23rd overall by the Denver Nuggets, but was traded on draft night to the Los Angeles Lakers along with Tony Batty in exchange for Nick Van Axel. His first three years with the Lakers were disappointing. His playing time was limited and in 2000 he suffered injuries. But Lew excelled in the 2001 playoffs. Because of his agility, he was notably used to defend Allen Iverson during Game 1 of the final.
In the 2001 off-season, Lew signed with the Washington Wizards, where he got more playing time and later became a better point guard. He played with the Orlando Magic in 2003–04 and spent several minutes with Tracy McGrady, but the team had the worst record in the NBA that season: 21–61. After the season ended, Lew, McGrady, Juwan Howard and Reece Gaines were traded to the Houston Rockets for Steve Francis, Cattino Mobley and Calvin Cato. In Houston, Lew saw a significant reduction in playing time due to an excess of point guards on the Rockets’ roster, and was later traded in mid-season for John Barry to the Atlanta Hawks. Lew starred in Atlanta, though again his team had the worst record in the NBA and their worst record in franchise history: 13–69.
