Tua Tagovailoa “Tua” Tagovailoa ( TUNG-oh-vy-LOW-uh; born March 2, 1998) is an American football quarterback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in Alabama, for which he led consecutive national championship games in the 2017 and 2018 seasons, winning the former, and finishing as Heisman Trophy runner-up in the latter.

While we may not see him as a dependable start in the 1QB league in his first game, he is absolutely in the Superflex talks due to the matchup. The Jaguars are allowing nearly 300 passing yards per game and an average of 1.4 passing touchdowns for opposing QBs this season. His first game in action since the second week against Buffalo is definitely counterproductive with him taking a risk.

Injury

Tagovailoa has played just one full match this season. He threw 202 yards, one touchdown, one interception, and ran for a touchdown in Miami’s 17–16 win over the New England Patriots in Week 1, and then injured his ribs early on during the following week’s matchup against the Buffalo Bills. .

Tagovailoa’s injury really seemed to derail the Dolphins, as Miami skipped all three games of Brissette’s debut – the final two defeats coming by double digits. The Dolphins are hopeful that the return of their starting quarterback will infuse some energy into this team, as they currently find themselves tied for last in the division at 1-4. Miami was close to posting a season in 2020, and Sunday’s win against Jacksonville could put the Dolphins back on the right track.
