Tuanigamuolepola “Tua” Tagovailoa (born March 2, 1998) is an American football quarterback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in Alabama, where he was the offensive MVP of the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship and received the Maxwell and Walter Camp Awards as a sophomore. Although his junior season was cut short by a hip injury, he was selected fifth overall by the Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft. Tagovello began his professional career with Ryan Fitzpatrick before taking over as starter at the end of his rookie year.

Oklahoma QB Kyler Murray defeated fellow finalists Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa and Ohio State QB Dwayne Haskins to win the 2018 Heisman Trophy on Saturday, December 8.
Murray became the first Heisman winner to replace Heisman winner from the year before, as he took over as Oklahoma’s starting quarterback for 2017 winner Baker Mayfield. He is also the seventh Heisman to win.

On 18 November, in a game against Mercer, he threw three passing touchdowns in a 56–0 victory. On January 8, 2018, he replaced the Hearts in the second half of the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship due to an ineffective play by the Hearts. He made the game-winning 41-yard touchdown pass in overtime, another true freshman, wide receiver. throws Devonta Smith as the Crimson Tide beat the Georgia Bulldogs; 26-23 claimed their 17th national championship.
