Tua Tagovailoa: Fantasy| Injury update| Investigation
Tunigamnuolepola Tagovailoa (born March 2, 1998) is an American football quarterback for the Miami Dolphins of the National Football League (NFL). He played college football in Alabama, where he was the offensive MVP of the 2018 College Football Playoff National Championship and received the Maxwell and Walter Camp Awards as a sophomore. Although his junior season was cut short by a hip injury, he was selected fifth overall by the Dolphins in the 2020 NFL Draft. Tagovailoa began his career as a backup to Dolphins quarterback Ryan Fitzpatrick and took over as a starter at the end of his rookie year and served as Miami’s primary starter from the 2021 season.

Fantasy
Weapons are starting to emerge for Rodgers, and he’s doing well as a fantasy quarterback. He scored 20 fantasy points in consecutive games against the Bears and the Buccaneers, and he should be showing another quality run this week against the Patriots at home. With Alan Lazard recuperating in the last two games and the emergence of Romeo Dobbs in Week 3, Rodgers now has Robert Tonin, Aaron Jones and A.J. Dillon. The Patriots allowed Lamar Jackson to throw four touchdowns, and Rodgers needed to be the third game in a row with at least 20 imaginary points in this matchup at home.
Injury update
Dolphins QB Tua Tagovailoa, who is battling back and ankle injuries, has not been ruled out for Thursday.
What this means in fantasy: Miami is not holding a normal practice week because of Thursday night’s game. Head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that if the Dolphins had had a normal practice week, Tagovailoa would have been limited in practice and would have been suspicious of the game. According to McDaniel, pain tolerance and stability of the ankle and back will determine its availability. Fictional managers should learn more on Wednesday. A streamer should consider Trevor Lawrence, Marcus Mariota, Ryan Tanhill or Jared Goff.
Investigation
The investigation is expected to take one to two weeks to complete.
The question then becomes whether the league and union would agree that concussion protocol was properly followed. For instances of gross motor instability, the player may be cleared to play only if the team physician and UNC conclude that the instability had no neurological cause.
How did this happen in this case? Did they take Tua at his word that his staggering came from an unreported back injury he had suffered earlier in the game? Did they do anything else to show that the instability was not the result of a head injury?
Apparently, he was cleared for withdrawal. But whether he showed signs of impairment upon examination in the locker room is a separate question as to whether his gross motor instability had a neurological cause.
