Tagovailoa got a much lower share than Buro ($36.19 million) and a good share above Herbert ($26.578 million). For 2021, the Dolphins have about $33 million under the salary limit to help Tagovailoa with, as well as two first-round draft picks.

With a youth team, the Dolphins’ biggest current cap hits come from their high-priced cornerbacks, Byron Jones and Xavian Howard, for a combined $30.925 million in 2020. Fitzpatrick ($8 million) and go-to wide receiver DeVante Parker ($5.1 million) are also among nine players who count more towards the cap than Tagovailoa.

How to say

On the whole, “tung-o-wai-loa” is the proper way to say the name, which can be hard for many people after seeing it broken, even if it becomes a part of everyday conversation!
