San Francisco starting quarterback Trey Lance was kicked off the field on Sunday with a right ankle injury in the first quarter of the 49ers’ 27-7 win against the Seahawks.
After the QB was tackled on the run, Lance walked onto the field and stayed down for a few minutes before bringing the car up. Lance left the game with an air cast on his right foot and was quickly dismissed by San Francisco.
Jimmy Garoppolo, who renegotiated his contract in the off-season to remain as a backup QB, returned to the game after an injury.
Lance was 2 of 3 for 30 yards and added 13 yards on two carries before his exit. Garoppolo was a touchdown in his relief effort, scoring 13 for 154 for 21.
