After Saturday’s game, Sanders said his star two-way player “will be out for a couple weeks.” He said he is still waiting for further updates, but knows the absence will be a long one.
“We’ll do what we have to do to take care of him,” Sanders said at his press conference. “So I know Travis like a book, he’ll probably want to be out for two weeks, but we have to make sure his health is more important than this game.”
He was hit hard by Colorado State safety Henry Blackburn in the first quarter of the game, and had difficulty standing on the sideline.
Hunter missed several games before returning before the end of the first half. However, he did not play at all in the second half before being officially ruled out and taken to hospital.

The Rams were whistled for two fouls in the game. Safety Henry Blackburn was flagged for pass interference and nickel back Ayden Hector was assessed a foul on unsportsmanlike conduct after a late hit to Hunter’s midsection out of bounds.
Hunter, who had previously suffered a fumble that was returned for a touchdown, returned to the game, playing on both offense and defense, but left early in the third quarter.
The Buffaloes were trailing the Rams 21–14 when Hunter was taken to the hospital.

While playing wide receiver, Hunter took a hard hit from Colorado State safety Henry Blackburn during the first quarter of the game and stopped on the field to get the trainers’ attention.
