Anthony Kevin Dungy (born October 6, 1955) is a former American football safety and coach who served as head coach in the National Football League (NFL) for 13 seasons with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Indianapolis Colts. Gay
The first is his very public homosexuality. While this happened several years ago, Dungy spent part of his social capital in 2007 in Indiana to raise thousands of dollars to fight against marriage equality, saying that if you are with God you should be for gay people. To be against equality. Dungy again this year publicly declaring that he did not want Michael Sam on his team.
This leads us to reason number 2. Instead of owning up to his anti-Sam homophobia, Dungy tries to put the “distraction” nonsense and Oprah Winfrey behind the TV show behind the claim that he doesn’t want Sam on his team. What Dungy forgets is the reckoning of the book of Proverbs, many of which Dungy has committed for not being the master of his true homophobia: a lying tongue… a heart that devises wicked plans. … a false witness who breathes lies lies… and sows discord among brothers.
Dungy’s lies were proved when he publicly stated that he would welcome Ray Rice to his team. Wife-beater Rice would attract far more questions and media than Sam, yet Dungey would embrace him with open arms like he did with dog-killer Michael Vick (who incidentally also had a reality show behind him) when He was released from jail.
One who kills wife and one who kills dog? No problem for Dungi. A man who loves other men? no way in hell!
Outward homophobia and apparent disdain for gay people has led many to openly wonder whether Dungey’s son, who killed himself in 2005 (may he rest in peace), was gay. This is the number 1 question I get from people regarding Dungey. The latest round has brought everyone back to the surface, even though there is no public evidence to that effect (of course, homosexuality in Breitbart calls the question of one’s sexual orientation an “assault”). But you can certainly understand — with Dungey’s open, public attacks on gay people — any issues surrounding Dungey, family, athletes or otherwise.

LUTZ, Fla. (Feb. 17, 2006) — The death of the 18-year-old son of Indianapolis Colts coach Tony Dungy has been ruled a suicide, a medical examiner said.
James Dungy hanged himself from a bedroom ceiling fan with a leather belt on December 22, Dr. Jacqueline Lee of the Hillsborough County Medical Examiner’s office wrote in her final autopsy report.
Officials denied foul play in December, and toxicology results were negative, except for caffeine and drug paramedics used in efforts to resuscitate the teen, Lee said.
According to the medical examiner’s office, Dungey was found and bitten by his girlfriend on December 22, less than half an hour after she was last seen alive. The teen’s girlfriend called paramedics, who attempted to revive him. He was pronounced dead at Tampa Hospital.
Officials said James Dungy was taking extension classes at the University of South Florida.
Tony Dungy coached the Tampa Bay Buccaneers from 1996 to 2001.

Tony Dungy’s eldest son, Jamie Dungy, died three days before Christmas in 2005. Investigators ruled suicide as the cause of death of the 18-year-old, whose famous father was the highly successful head coach of the Indianapolis Colts and now has a studio. Dungy gave a eulogy at Jamie’s memorial service in Tampa, Florida, and spoke of, among other things, not hugging his son on Thanksgiving a few weeks before his death. Speaking at an Athlete in Action (AIA) breakfast, six weeks after the funeral, the coach spoke publicly about Jamie’s death: “It was hard, and it was painful, but it was as painful as , there were some good things that came out of it.”
Over breakfast, Dungy recalls the overwhelming support he and his wife, Lauren, received through cards, letters, telephone calls, and face-to-face encounters with other parents who had lost their children to suicide. He also appreciated the words of parents who decided to reconnect with their children on a deeper level after listening to Coach Dungey.

Tony Dungy, son of Wilbur Dungy and Clomey Dungy, born in Jackson, Michigan, had a brief stint as a professional football player after his four-year stint playing quarterback for the University of Minnesota.
Dungy joined the Pittsburgh Steelers as a free agent before joining the San Francisco 49ers in 1977. He retired in 1980.
In 1981, Dungy returned to the Steelers as an assistant coach in the role of defensive backs coach before being named defensive coordinator in 1984. After three years in that role, he joined the Minnesota Vikings in the same capacity.
Dungy took over as head coach of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 1996 and was fired in 2001. A year later, he became the head coach of the Indianapolis Colts.
Dungy spent seven seasons as HC at Indianapolis, and with his Super Bowl victory in 2006 became the first African-American head coach to hoist the Lombardi Trophy.

Right after the Colts won the Super Bowl, the NFL coach openly campaigned for a constitutional amendment banning same-sex marriage. In 2012, he tweeted his disappointment about President Obama’s changing views on marriage equality. In 2013, he stated that he disagreed with the “lifestyle” of openly gay NBA player Jason Collins. And in 2014 he openly made homophobic remarks about gay NFL player Michael Sam, saying that if he were still a coach he would not have drafted the player because of it. Dungey got into hot water after defending John Gruden just before an email showing the former Raiders coach using homophobic language.
So when Dungy showed up at a press conference to stand behind Florida Governor Ron DeSantis as he signed a $70 million bill that “prioritizes resources for Florida fathers,” many people were surprised. were not. DeSantis has been in the news recently for signing and pushing for a “Don’t Say Gay” bill, which bans Florida classroom instruction regarding sexual orientation or gender identity.
