Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson left Saturday night’s game against the Philadelphia Flyers with a knee injury.

In the neutral zone, Wilson collided leg-on-leg with Boston forward Nicolas Aube-Kubel.

Wilson’s injury was cut in half in the first period. It appeared to be an accidental contact.

Wilson went to the locker room while Aube-Kubel returned to the Capital Bench.

The Washington Capitals were already without Evgeny Kuznetsov, Alex Ovechkin and Niklas Backstrom. They are ten ahead again.

Fights

The Washington Capitals forward plays like a freight train, and it gets him in trouble. He’s the teammate everyone loves and the opponent everyone loves to hate.Washington Capitals forward Tom Wilson is, according to some of his teammates, a threat. a bully. a punk. a punk. He is reckless, cunning, dirty and bad for hockey. He may have been fit 30 years ago, but his conduct — illegal checks and high hits, at the cost of five suspensions in his career — has no place in today’s safety-conscious NHL.

Tom Wilson is, according to others, a really good friend. a leader. Unity force. A great companion He is considerate, conscientious, attentive and great at the Capitals locker room. He used to be fit 30 years ago, but his style – daring and physical, with top-six skills and speed – is now all the more iconic as league players trend towards shorter and faster.

Vs Ryan reaves

The NHL started yesterday, with a jolt and then the new kids on the block showed some semblance of performance and enthusiasm. It was all fine and dandy, but now we have the actual opening day of the 2021-22 season. Five games abound on the schedule with plenty of storylines, but the HockeyFights team is eyeing one matchup in particular. The matchup of the day is, of course, the New York Rangers in the Washington Capitals and, with it, the reunion of old friends, Tom Wilson and Ryan Reeves.

If this off-season has been more dry than dry toast for you, and you’re in need of ketchup, here’s how it fell short.

Tom Wilson is trapped in the bobblehead castaway longer than Hanks.

For Halloween in 2015, Caps forward Tom Wilson dressed as Wilson the Volleyball from the castaway (while teammate Michael Latta dressed as Tom Hanks). In 2016, the Capitals voted for a stadium giveaway Bobblehead, with Braden Holtby winning by a landslide. Other options were Justin Williams, who had high hair, and Wilson wearing a Halloween costume. For the 2019-20 season, the Caps announced that Wilson would finally get that bobblehead, but Covid-19 changed things. Two seasons later, and nearly six years after the original outfit, the Caps would give the Bobbleheads against the Detroit Red Wings on October 27.

Other goodies for the 2021-22 season include the John Carlson bobblehead against St. Louis on March 22, the schedule magnet against the New York Rangers on October 13, the Caps-themed holiday ugly sweater against Anaheim on December 6, and others. Traditional promotions throughout the year.
