I’ve had so many people ask me what’s wrong with the New England Patriots this year, and more frankly, they ask me what’s wrong with Tom Brady?
my answer? Look, Tom just came out of major reconstructive knee surgery. Yes, his throws are a bit inaccurate, he is taking longer to do his readings, his mechanics are a bit off, and he is out of sync with his receivers.
But what do you expect?
He has been out of football for a year and is getting used to wearing a knee brace and playing again!
Last year Peyton Manning missed all training camp following knee surgery. I would never call knee surgery minor but it was to remove an infection and it was not reconstructive knee surgery.
Manning played mediocre at best in the first four to six games of the season, then shed tears among Colts opponents, which still seems to be the case today.
Carson Palmer performed somewhat poorly throughout the year following his ACL surgery.
Donovan McNab had a somewhat poor run after coming back from knee surgery and has since been injured.
Dante Culpeper has never really come back from his ACL injury.
It took at least a year or more for Trent Greene to play well after an ACL injury.
That’s what’s wrong with Tom Brady. And he’s one of the most hardworking, competitive players in the league. I think he will continue to progress and be Tom Brady by the end of the season, leaving the injury behind.
Personal
Brady began dating Brazilian model Gisele Bundchen in December 2006. In 2009, Brady said that they were set up on a blind date by a mutual friend. Brady and Bundchen married in an intimate Catholic ceremony on February 26, 2009 in Santa Monica, California. Together, they have two children: a son named Benjamin Rein born in December 2009 and a daughter named Vivian Lake born in December 2012. Brady and baseball player Kevin Ukilis became brother-in-law in 2012, when Ukilis married Brady’s sister Julie. Brady’s niece Maya Brady is a college softball player for the UCLA Bruins.
Brady and his family previously lived in Brookline, Massachusetts (during his playing career with the Patriots) as well as the Boston suburb of New York City. They own several homes together and spend time during the summer at the Yellowstone Club near Big Sky, Montana, as well as their home in Silo Ridge in Amania, New York.
