Scuba suit:

It was a beyond-chilly 13 degrees in Foxborough on Sunday, prompting players to go to extra lengths to stay warm as 2017 comes to a close. While all the Patriots opted to go with long sleeves, Brady went a step beyond with a move that’s frankly genius.

Wetsuits work in diving by trapping a thin layer of water next to the diver’s body, which is then heated to body temperature by the diver. It doesn’t escape, and they stay warm. But without water, it’s unclear how much protection they really offer.

Pick 6:

“I’ve been wearing it at practice,” Brady told me Friday. “It just insulates you from the cold. It’s good because it keeps the wind from penetrating and it really doesn’t limit movement too much.”

Brady first experimented with a scuba top in the Jan. 10, 2004, divisional-round playoff game against the Tennessee Titans, which he said is the coldest game he ever played in.
