Age
He is 33 year’s old. Previously, Tohu Harris played for the Melbourne Storm, where he was part of the team that secured victory in the 2017 NRL Grand Final. On the international stage, he represented both New Zealand and the New Zealand Māori teams.
Injury
The Warriors have sent ripples through the NRL with the announcement that their captain, Tohu Harris, has been medically retired.
Harris revealed that he could no longer continue playing after off-season surgery failed to resolve a severe wrist injury that limited him to just 14 games in 2024 and prematurely ended his season.
“I had hoped to recover and return this year, but I’m heartbroken that I won’t get the chance to wear the jersey again,” Harris said. “The pain impacts my daily life, not just footy. While my body feels good in training, the reality is that I can’t perform at the level required with this injury.”
Though the decision is difficult, Harris expressed his gratitude to the Warriors: “I’m incredibly thankful to the New Zealand Warriors for everything—the chance to represent this club, to wear the jersey, and to lead such a great team. I’m also deeply grateful for the support my family and I have received.”
